Minutes

October 17, 2001

The regular meeting of the New Berlin Industrial Lions Club, held at AMF Recreation Center, New Berlin, on Wednesday, October 17th, 2001, was called to order by President Lion John Tews at 12:15 p.m. and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of America, and table grace. The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as printed. There were 15 Lions present.

Communications - Lion President Tews informed the membership of the upcoming November 1st Lion's Zone meeting to be held in Waukesha at the VFW post at 6 pm. He indicated he could not attend and asked that possibly others could attend.

Old Business -

Lion Gerry Louward indicated that there were not enough Club lion members to have a full 27A1 bowling Lions team so the Club would not participate in the event.

Discussion on Bocce Ball Lions Tournament suggested that the date selected would be either Saturday April 13th or the 20th depending on the availability of the VFW facility and any other Lion events being calendered on those dates. Lion Bob Fellenze will report back.

Lion President Tews indicated he would be able to attend the District Convention and suggested that members check their calendars for others to also attend.

Lion Ken Mathison and Lion Ted Wysocki would report back on the idea of setting up tours within the Parks for meetings.

New Business -

Lion Jack Winters presented an updated financial report. A few members were still in arrears with their dues payments.

Our Guest Speaker David O'Neill gave an interesting and informative presentation on Fund Raising techniques.

There was a tail twister's raffle won by Lion John Ripple and birthday raffle won by Lion Gerry Louward.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:46 p.m.

Respectfully submitted by Lion Secretary Ted Wysocki
